PARENTS are reminded to book their child's place on a school bus for next year.

Due to high demand, applications received before June 30 are more likely to be allocated a place. From this date onwards if a bus is fully allocated no further places will be available.

Parents can choose their preferred option from 67 dedicated bus routes.

In Bolton, this applies to buses for Mount St Joseph College, Smithills School, St James's Church of England School and Thornleigh Salesian College.

Pupils should ensure that they either already have an igo card or have applied for an igo card in order to use the service. Children without an igo card will not be allowed to pay the concessionary fare on a Yellow School Bus.

Transport for Greater Manchester’s interim head of bus services, Alison Chew, said: “Places on Yellow School Buses are limited so it’s important to remember that failure to either apply for a new place or renew an existing place could see children miss out.

"Our Yellow School Buses are a great way to travel, providing children with a safe, reliable and environmentally friendly alternative."

Applications can be made at tfgm.com online or over the phone on 0161 244 1000.
