Sensational scarecrows

A FANTASTIC feast of family fun is coming to Bromley Cross this weekend with a super scarecrow trail.

The trail, featuring dozens of creatively designed scarecrows, is being held by The Last Drop and opens this Friday until June 2.

Budding teams of scarecrow hunters can pick up a map from The Last Drop Tea Shop to guide you around the trail and help you spot of the incredible creations.

There is also a competition for the best designed scarecrow.

Step back to Britain’s finest hour

STEP back in time with the East Lancashire Railway as the popular heritage attraction’s 1940s weekend returns.

Relive Britain’s finest hour with a host of Second World War and Home Front-themed activities at stations along the 12 mile line, including battle re-enactments, live music and military and classic vehicle displays.

The event will take place from 9am to 4pm daily, May 25 to 27.

Les Mis stars at Albert Halls

BE agog, aghast and in love at last as stars of Les Miserables, The Barricade Boys, perform some of the biggest tunes in showbusiness.

The singing quartet are to appear The Albert Halls from 7.30pm on May 26.

Don't miss the circus

IF you missed the spectacular Circus Funtasia at Burrs Country Park never fear as you can still catch the big top as it pitches up in Victoria Park, Swinton.

The show includes fun for all the family, from hilarious comedy to fearless fire-eating, death-defying feats of acrobatics and jaw-dropping motorcycle tricks.

Laugh out loud comedy

HAVE a barrel of laughs with some acclaimed comics at an inaugural comedy night.

The jam-packed event will be held at Level One nightclub in Darwen, featuring Tanyalee Davis, Rob Mullholland, Danny Sutcliffe and Shaun Kavanagh; from 8pm on May 24.

The comedy night is over 18s only and the nightclub will be open after the event.
