THE Festival of Racing is a hugely popular event every year. This time, the competition is heating up for junior participants.
Horwich Festival of Racing has seen years of success putting on annual races for keen cyclists and runners from across the world.
This year, Team Deane Community Triathlon Club is hosting a junior duathlon as part of the festivities on June 15. The duathlon will be non-competitive and medals will be awarded to all participants.
The duathlon will be a run, bike, run format and the distances include: 250m run, 400m bike and 250m run for ages five to seven (parents can assist little ones), 500m run, 800m bike and 500m run for ages eight to 11, 750m run, 1200m bike and 750m run for ages 12 to 15.
Any bike is allowed to be used in the junior duathlon including those fitted with stabilisers. All riders must wear a helmet.
