Looking for something to keep you busy this week?

Whether you enjoy tinkering at the museum or trying something a bit different we've made a list of five things to do in Bolton this week.

Relax into Tai Chai

ENJOY some exercise and hone your martial arts skills will a special session of Tai Chi.

The ancient Chinese art form is practised for its health benefits and is a good way of working from slow methodical steps to more challenging moves.

This session will be put on by Age UK Bolton and is aimed at giving people an interesting and unusual form of exercise.

The group holds fortnightly sessions at Westhoughton Library, in Library Street, with the latest event held today at noon.

Sessions are free and usually last around 45 minutes.

Anyone interested in attending should bring appropriate clothing for exercise and stretching.

For more information or to find out about future sessions, call the library on 01942 634640.

Get in the volunteer spirit

THIS week is National Volunteers Week and organisations across the country are celebrating the work of unpaid helpers.

Like many public services, Bolton's libraries and museums rely on these groups to operate. Now, the Bolton Library and Museum Service is asking new volunteers to come forward to an information day held at the Central Library from 2-4pm on Friday.
