A WEST Craven woman has been charged after a man suffered serious injuries in a fruit shop attack.

Police were alerted after a 67-year-old man was found unconscious inside SB Fruits, in Water Street, Earby, on Tuesday morning.

Hayley Fullalove, 49, of Victoria Road, Earby, has now been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent, to Harry Morris.

She has also been accused of robbery, in connection with the same incident.

Fullalove was initially remanded by police to appear before Blackburn magistrates yesterday.

And magistrates later sent her in custody to Burnley Crown Court, on both allegations.

She will appear before a judge for a plea and trial preparation hearing on July 4.

The alleged victim is understood to have lived at the premises. The man and the woman are thought to be known to each other.

Detectives are still trying to piece together the alleged victim's movements between 5pm on June 3 and 10am on June 4.

Anyone with information should call police on 101 quoting log number 0384 of June 4 or the Crimestoppers hotline, in confidence, on 0800 555 111.
