A MAN who was found injured at the house where a mum-of-two was found dead has died in hospital.

Police launched a murder investigation after Regan Tierney's body was found at a house in Manchester Road, Walkden, shortly before 2.10am on Wednesday morning.

Police were called to the semi-detached property after receiving reports of concern for the welfare of a woman.

A man in his 30s was taken to hospital, but police say he died on Friday evening.

The murder investigation is ongoing. But police say they are not looking for anyone else in connection with Ms Tierney's death.

Detective Chief Inspector Chris Packer, of GMP’s Salford district, said: “Regan’s family are understandably absolutely heartbroken and we have specialist officers supporting them at this devastating time.

“Our enquiries remain ongoing and we are determined to establish the circumstances that led to this tragic incident so that we can provide her family with the answers they rightly deserve.

“We are not currently looking for anyone else in connection with this incident but I would still urge anyone with any information that could assist our investigation to get in touch as soon as possible.”

On Thursday, the family of Regan, who was 27, paid tribute to her in a statement.

It read: “She was a loving mum who loved family life, she will be greatly missed by her two children and family.

“Regan was taken from our lives too soon. She was a beautiful daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, and an amazing mother. We will forever cherish the memories.

“At this time we respectfully ask for some privacy whilst we grieve the loss of our loved one.”
