A RANGE Rover driver is to face trial in March next year after a pedestrian was killed on Topp Way, Bolton.
Rizwan Ali is accused of causing the death by dangerous driving of 65-year-old Colin Olawumi, being over the prescribed limit of drugs, having no insurance and fraud.
Mr Olawumi died after he was struck as he crossed the road on August 18 last year.
Ali, aged 25, of Russell Street, Bolton, was driving a Range Rover Sport.
At Bolton Crown Court members of Mr Olawumi’s family sat in the public gallery.
Ali did not enter any pleas and there will be a further hearing on August 16. In the meantime Judge Timothy Stead listed a trial to begin on March 2, 2020
