PUPILS at Devonshire Road Primary School have plenty to smile about as they throw themselves into Healthy Living Week.

The whole school is taking part in a range of activities, from learning how to cook healthy food, to pupils and parents taking part in a challenge to walk a daily mile around the playground and reception pupils visiting The Hive in Moss Bank Park.

To start the week Bolton’s Oral Health Improvement Team, celebrating National Smile Month, was on hand with big toothbrushes and plenty of fun to get the 180 Key Stage One children making the most of their mouths.

Teacher Lesley Allanson, who had organised Healthy Living Weeks for the last six years, says the 2019 event is bigger and better than ever and pupils are keen to get involved.

“There is a buzz around the school and they are all talking about it,” she said.
