A POPULAR family fun day is set to return to town and organisers hope it will "bring the whole community together".

Bolton's Big Day Out, organised by the Bridge Church provides a day of entertainment including fairground rides, bouncy castles and craft stalls.

This year's main attraction will see visitors awed by a flying display put on by trained birds of prey.

Entry to the event is free and Richard Cooke, senior minister at the church, says everyone is invited to enjoy the day out.

“The aim of the Big Day Out is to bring the whole community together for a day of fun and entertainment," he said.

"We’ve put a full programme of activities together suitable for all ages. Everyone’s welcome."

The fun day will be held outside the church, in Bradford Street, but this year the venue will be expanded to provide more space for attractions.

Organiser Steve Tilbrook, said: “It’s a huge area. We’re closing the main road and linking our site with Bolton Parish Church School and their field, creating a really large area.

"This means we can make the event bigger and better. We’re looking forward to a fantastic day where everyone can relax, have fun and enjoy themselves."

Other attractions at the Big Day Out include Bolton FM's roadshow, competitions, special entertainment, animals and a climbing wall.

The event takes place on Saturday, July 6, and is set to run from around noon until 4pm. For more information, visit: www.facebook.com/BBDO2019/.
