A TEENAGER is believed to have been abducted in Prestwich.

Police in Bury are investigating the incident and are keen to ensure the boy is safe and well.

.

Shortly after 5.30pm on Friday evening, police received a report that a boy in his late teens had been forced into a black Volkswagen saloon car by two men on Mount Road in Bury.

Initial enquiries have established that the teenager had a conversation with two men who were sat inside a car, before one of them got out and chased the teenager down the road.

The man then forced the teen into the back of the car, before driving off towards what officers believe to be Thatch Leech Lane. One of the men is described as black and in his 50s. He is further described as being of a heavy build and having a bald head.

The second man, who was a front seat passenger, is described as black and approximately 25 years of age. He wore dark clothing with a white stripe down the leg.

Detective Inspector Neil Lawless, of GMP’s Bury division, said: “Our enquiries are in their very early stages and we are keeping an open mind as to what has happened, but want to make sure that the teenager is safe and well.

“I appreciate that the descriptions of the two men are quite limited but I’d appeal directly to anybody who was in the area at the time - if you saw something that you didn’t think was quite right, please get in touch with us as soon as you possibly can.”
