A ROBBER stormed into a takeaway and threatened staff with a kitchen knife before fleeing with cash.

The man targeted KFC in Derby Street at about 11.20pm on Thursday, May 16.

While he demanded the staff hand over money, a second man waited outside in a blue Ford Fiesta Titanium.

The pair then fled the scene along with the cash.

Police say no one was injured in the robbery, but staff were left shaken.

Officers say the man who entered the shop has been described as over 6ft tall, olive coloured skin with hazel eyes, medium build and in his 30s.

He wore his hood up and had a black scarf covering the bottom part of his face, as well as a tattoo on his right lower arm.

He was also carrying a green coloured hold-all with a brown strap and threatened staff with a large kitchen knife, which was around 8 inches long with black handle.

The second man was white and had light coloured hair.

Police have since launched an investigation and have released CCTV images in the hope that someone will recognise the two men.
