BILL Naughton’s 1959 classic, Spring and Port Wine is reminiscent of a typical household of its time. It is only right that it is performed at Bolton Little Theatre in its 60th year.
Under the direction of Ian Taylor it's a diamond of a production for the play's diamond anniversary.
The first thing that needs to be mentioned is the fabulous split set that depicts dining room, lounge and kitchen and is used to great effect .
Sue Gill makes Daisy Crompton her own as she works tirelessly to keep the family together both financially and harmoniously.
Kyle Cambray offers a sensitive Wilfred whilst Adam Manning gives Harold a touch of arrogance. Florence’s intended, Arthur is in the safe hands of Simon Mott, and Peter Scofield excels as Rafe Crompton. Measured, assured and commanding, you can tell he is head of the household from the very start.
The production runs until Saturday and for tickets call 01204 524469 or visit www.boltonlittletheatre.co.uk
