IT is the dream of all dog lovers to take their pup along to work with them.

And with yesterday being Bring Your Dog to Work Day, four-legged friends across Bolton spent the day at their owners’ offices.

While many will have been happy to let their dog wander around the office soaking up the attention of colleagues, workers at one Bolton business went even further.

Staff at the Wellbeing Farm in Edgworth held a mock dog wedding, where two pups tied the knot.

The big day belonged to Charlie and Polly, both of whom belong to staff members at the popular wedding venue.

The mock ceremony was watched by more than a dozen other dogs, which were brought in by staff and members of the community.

Celia Gaze, the owner of the farm, said: “We absolutely loved it. It was so much fun having all the dogs running about.”

“We wanted to do something different for Bring Your Dog to Work Day and have a bit of fun.

“We have never joined it before but we are going to do it every now.”

Bring Your Dog to Work Day aims to raise money for welfare charities All Dogs Matter and Animal Asia, and has grown in popularity since its inception in 2014.

It encourages employees nationwide to throw convention out of the window and invite their pooch to join them for some Friday fun in the workplace.

Not only is it great fun, but having your furry pal in the office is said to bring mental health benefits.

Research by sponsor Poppy’s Picnic suggests making the initiative a more regular fixture could help relieve stress.

We asked you to send in your pictures of your dogs at work.

Among them were Phil Sankey’s dog Winston, who joined him at Sankey Heating & Plumbing Supplies in Halliwell.

Meanwhile, Official Car Mats in Blackrod also had a pair of furry visitors in Louie and Maggie May.
