A MAN has been arrested following a three-vehicle crash in Ainsworth.

Emergency services were called to the crash in Cockey Moor Road, close to the junction with Starling Road, shortly after midnight.

One man suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital.

Another of the drivers, a man in his early 20s, was arrested at the scene.

The road was closed briefly while the emergency services dealt with the incident.

Steve Urmston, watch manager at Bury Fire Station, said: "The driver of one vehicle went through a give way junction and hit another car coming through the traffic lights from Bury towards Ainsworth.

"He was arrested at the scene.

"The drivers got out of the car themselves. We made the scene and the cars safe and left it with police."

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "We were called at 12.10am to a three-vehicle collision in Cockey Moor Road, Ainsworth.

"The fire service were called and the road was closed for a period.

"A man has been arrested. One driver suffered minor injuries."
