Madchester live

RELIVE the music and culture of the legendary Madchester scene at a huge live music extravaganza.

The Made in Manchester concert is coming to Bolton Arena featuring some of the best Manchester cover bands on a huge outdoor stage from 2pm on June 29.

Appearing at the event are headliners The Oasis Experience, These Smiths, Resurrection Stone Roses and Happy Mondaze.

They will be joined by Bolton’s own alt rockers Our Fold and Indie outfit Jade Assembly alongside host DJ Dave Sweetmore, who will be playing even more Manchester classics.

There will also be outdoor bars, including a special gin bar stocking more than 80 different gins.

Money raised by the concert will go towards supporting grass roots sport and Lagan’s Foundation.

Rockabilly dance class

PUT on your blue suede shoes and rock around the clock at a 1950s rockabilly rock n roll social and dance class.

Get ready to shake, rattle and roll as you learn to dance to the best music from the 1950s and beyond at Horwich Conservative Club from 8pm on June 26.

The event is suitable for people of all abilities aged 16 and over, and tickets are available from Skiddle.

Catch a thrilling film showing with subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing.

Bolton Central Library will be hosting a free Silver Screening of Hunter Killer from 2pm on June 26.

The action thriller stars Gerard Butler and Gary Oldman and follows an American submarine crew and Navy SEALs unit as they rescue the captured Russian President from a coup.

Last chance to see stunning exhibition

Do not miss your chance to see a stunning exhibition of artworks by PB Gadsden.

The month-long exhibition at Harwood Library is due to finish on June 30 and features a collection on beautiful watercolour landscapes.

All the watercolours are also for sale.

The gallery is open during the opening hours of the library in Hough Fold Way, and is located on the Mezzanine floor, which can be accessed via a spiral staircase.

Admission to the exhibition is free, however the library is closed on Wednesdays.
