OBJECTIONS have been made after plans were submitted to build a four-storey block of flats at the site of a former Royal British Legion Club.
Developer Mangrove Estates Ltd is behind the plans for a block of 19 flats in Water Street, Radcliffe, each containing one or two bedrooms.
A businessman has raised concerns about the proposed access to the site.
Gordon Waite, who owns land adjacent to the neighbouring nursing home Rose Court, said: “I do not think anyone has realised the full implications of these plans, nor how severely it will impact the nursing home.
“The road onto the site is very narrow; at one point it is only just over 15ft wide. This will cause even greater traffic problems than there are now.”
As part of the planning process, the council’s highways team carry out relevant checks.
In a design and access statement, Grays Architecture Ltd, on behalf of the developer, said: “The proposal will sit well in its immediate surroundings and make a positive impact to the local area.”
