BOLTON MP Sir David Crausby is encouraging the town's businesses, charities, community, faith and youth groups to host events for 'Silver Sunday'.
The aim of the special day is to celebrate older people and give them new opportunities to get out, keep their minds and bodies active, learn new skills, make new friends and connect with the local community..
Hundreds of organisations across the UK will come together to host free and low-cost events and activities on the first Sunday in October.
Bolton North East MP Sir David, 73, said: “I think Silver Sunday is a great opportunity to bring the community together and I hope that local people and organisations will get involved. If you want to put on an event the possibilities are endless."
