TWIN sisters twirled their way to success at a dance competition.

Jemima Binnall and Naomi Binnall showcased their abilities at Blackpool’s prestigious Winter Gardens venue at the World Disco Freestyle Dance Championships.

The annual contest sees hundreds of children and young people of all ages from countries as far as South Africa showcase their performances following months of rehearsals.

Jemima and Naomi, who were the youngest in their age category, impressed the judges with their freestyle routines, to secure world champion titles in the under 16s.

The twins’ dance tutor, Emma Walsh, said: “The girls’ work ethic is incredible and even though they might bicker off the dance floor like sisters do, once they are on the floor together they are amazing!

“The moment their number was called the excitement hit all of our faces and the twins were so shocked. We couldn’t be any prouder of the girls. They are the most humble and hardworking dancers and the biggest credit to Dance Nation Academy.”

Jemima and Naomi both train at the academy, which was established in Breightmet in May 2018. Ms Walsh set up the dance school, modelled on a national company. They meet at St Catherine’s Academy.

The sisters' mum, Vicki Owen said: They have done fantastically well, absolutely amazing."

Their routines were performed as part of a three-day competition between June 21-23, which also comprised other routines.
