The judges named her the winner of the Leader in Supporting Talent Development category.

Ms Andrews has responsibility for overseeing the running of Oak Lodge — a 12-bed unit for mental health patients, based in Foundry Street.

She said: “Oak Lodge is such a brilliant team to be part of and I could not have won this award without their incredible support.”

The entry included a testimonial which praised Ms Andrews for her provision of "highly motivating leadership" and nurturing every staff member to develop and become the best they can be."

Ms Andrews, who was one of 400 nominations for the Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership-led awards, attended a special ceremony at the Museum of Science and Industry on Thursday, July 4.

The hospital, which is run by Alternative Futures Group, is also celebrating a recent Outstanding rating from the Care Quality Commission and going through to the finals of the national LaingBuisson care awards.
