POLICE remain at the scene of shooting in which a man was shot in a "targeted attack".
A man, believed to be in his late 20s, was taken to hospital after the incident in a car park close to the Outline Health and Fitness, on Lever Street, Great Lever, at around 12pm yesterday.
The extent of his injuries remain as yet unknown.
Workers reported seeing a man dressed in dark clothing and a hoodie walk up to a parked car and fire three shots through the window before fleeing the scene.
Police flooded the area yesterday putting a cordon in place which was eventually extended to incorporate more of the surrounding area.
Today, the cordon has been pushed back on St Marks Road.
However, there is still a police presence at the scene.
It is understood that the owners of vehicles behind the cordon have since been allowed to retrieve them.
