A driver was stopped this morning for using his mobile phone while on the road, trying to excuse the offence to the police saying "it's 5am".
The driver of a Volkswagen Up! passed an unmarked police car this morning in Tonge Moor Road.
The driver was using his mobile phone, but instead of stopping when asked by police, he carried on.

A traffic offence was issued.
GMP Traffic tweeted: "The driver of the VW Up! passed the unmarked patrol on Tonge Moor Road Bolton whilst using his mobile phone.
