THE chains will be removed and visitors will have a chance to see some of Bolton Library's oldest and rare books.
A lunchtime talk on "Bolton's Beautiful Books" will take place next month.
Bolton Libraries have acquiring rare books since the foundation of the service in 1853, though the collections of rare books in Bolton pre-date the library.
The books are a testament to the wealth and intellectual curiosity of Boltonians through the ages. The illustrated talk on the history of Bolton’s Rare Book Collection will take place on August 7 at 1pm.
There will be a chance to see some of the rare books in the collection.
