I AM pleased that Andrea Egan has highlighted concerns about austerity and the protest planned for September 29 at the Conservative party conference in Manchester.
One of my big concerns is the level of cuts to school funding and the terrible impact that this will have on our young people and their future education.
School teachers and support staff do a fantastic job but it’s really important that they have the resources and support they desperately need.
I was shocked to find that an estimated 17,723 schools across England have suffered from government funding cuts since 2015.
We owe it to our children and grandchildren to tell the new prime minister and the Conservatives that enough is enough. Readers can check if their local school is on the list of schools affected via the website:www.schoolcuts.org.uk
