TRAFFIC cops have seized a car after it was left on the motorway.
The purple Volkswagen Golf was spotted by officers on the hardshoulder of the M61, close to the Bolton A666 junction.
Officers discovered the car had no insurance and an expired MOT.
GMP Traffic shared an image of the car on social media.
They tweeted: "Just found this VW Polo abandoned on the M61 just prior to junction 1
"Checks showed no insurance held and a expired MOT
"We'll keep it safe in the recovery yard till the owner pops along.
"Seized section 165 RTA."
