A BOLTON MP has vowed to fight a new bid to build 174 homes as the second phase of a major housing development in the borough.
Bellway Homes has submitted a revised planning application for the new properties after a government inspector in May rejected its appeal against councillors' refusal of permission for the scheme.
Bolton West Conservative MP Chris Green has formally objected to the new application at Bowlands Hey, Westhoughton..
He said: "Local people regularly raise their concerns about increasing levels of traffic, long waiting times for a doctor’s appointment and a lack of school places.
“I believe that for these reasons, not to mention the destruction of irreplaceable local green space and disruption for local residents, this development is wholly unsuitable for Westhoughton."
Bellway has said measures have been taken to resolve the inspector's concerns..
Mr Green is also to write to the housing minister about the proposal.
