CONSTRUCTION work is well underway on a ‘finger-licking’ new restaurant.
KFC are due to open their Farnworth restaurant “at the end of this year”and a metal frame has now been erected on the land between King Street and Albert Road.
Planning chiefs at Bolton Council approved the plans for the fast food restaurant in January.
The restaurant is set to create 40 jobs in the area, 20 full-time and 20 part-time, with it being expected that the restaurant manager will be the only position filled by a current KFC employee.
In April, advertising consent was also granted by Bolton Council to erect 14 KFC-branded fascia signs and 13 hoarding signs at the eventual site, which will include a drive-thru.
A spokesman for the fast food giant said: “We’re really keen to open a new KFC in Farnworth at the end of this year.
“KFC fans should keep their eyes peeled for more information soon.”
