A WESTHOUGHTON football team named in honour of the victims of the Pretoria Pit mining disaster has gained a sponsor for the new football season.
Pretoria FC is based at Mill Street and plays in the South Lancashire Counties Sunday League. It is an open age club hoping to start its own youth programme. Now, new kit sponsorship has come from local business solutions provider, Eventura.
Company CEO, Dr Chris Houghton commented: “We’re very proud of our roots in Bolton and Westhoughton. It’s important to ensure that future generations are reminded of history that shaped their local community and football is a sport that brings everyone together.”
Pretoria FC manager Mike Chappell thanked the company, stating: “Without the support of such generous local businesses like Eventura, grass roots football and community sport would not be able to continue as it does today.”
