A NEW 'matchmaking' service linking apprentices with potential jobs has been launched.
The scheme works with the government's apprenticeship levy and will allow bigger firms to use extra cash from the levy to fund apprenticeships at smaller companies. It aims to tackle the increasing need for skilled labour.
The Greater Manchester Levy Matchmaking Service will be operated by local organisation The Growth Company.
The firm's CEO Mark Hughes, said: “I have no doubt it will benefit the local economy, while helping to address skills gaps in key sectors.”
