BOLTON West MP Chris Green has been given an unpaid government job as a ministerial aide.
He has been made a Parliamentary Private Secretary at the Department for Education.
Mr Green will act as the 'eyes and ears' for its ministers in the House Commons and play a key role in liaising between them, and backbench MPs.
Yesterday's appointment returns him to the same level of responsibility in the government pecking order he held at the Department for Transport from January to July last year before he resigned over Brexit .
Mr Green, a strong supporter of new Prime Minister Boris Jonson, said: “I’m delighted to have been appointed to the role of Parliamentary Private Secretary for the Department for Education.
“I’ve had conversations with many constituents, teachers and headteachers about education and the opportunities it gives to children when they leave school, giving them the best start in life.
“I look forward to working with ministers and the team in the department.”
Mr Green has called for more cash for Special Education Needs.
