BLACKBURN'S Town Hall Square will be the venue for a 'Peace Vigil For Occupied Jammu and Kashmir' at 2.30pm tomorrow.
It follows the Indian government's revocation of special status for its portion of the disputed territory on the border with Pakistan.
Around 100 people are expected to attend the event which has been organised by the Kashmiri Association Blackburn, Drive For Justice, the Lancashire Council of Mosques and partner organisations.
The vigil, which has been advertised on social media. is expected to end by 4pm.
Asif Mahmud, one of the organisers, said: "A large section of the Blackburn community have family or have ancestral links with the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
"This is a humanitarian crisis.
"The human rights abuses and lack of aid is causing great distress and people are demanding we do everything in our power to stop the suffering and bring about a peaceful resolution."
