IT was in 1985 the cast of Victoria Hall Amateur Dramatic Society set sail on a journey as they brought the adventures of Robinson Crusoe alive for the people of Bolton to enjoy.
The grand historic Victoria Hall was transformed into a desert island as the story penned by Daniel Defoe was told.
The lead part went to Jane Mills has she stepped into the role of Crusoe.
The show rang over seven nights in February with audiences watching the character come faces to face with cannibals, captive and mutineers!.
The story has been thought to be based on the life of Alexander Selkirk, a Scottish castaway who lived for four years on a Pacific island called "Más a Tierra", now part of Chile, which was renamed Robinson Crusoe Island in 1966.
By the end of the run both cast and audience were left feeling "buoyant".
