SUCCESSFUL young people at Bolton St Catherine's were excited, relieved and 'buzzing' on results day after finding out their hard work had paid off.

Callum Stevens, who achieved one 9, seven 8s, 7 and 6, has the marks to start pursuing his ambition to become a lawyer.

He said: "I'm more relieved than anything and the hard work and the stress is worth it.

"It's nice to have these results because it shows everything I've put in has paid off — putting in the work now is worth it for the rest of your life."

Callum is going to Holy Cross College to study law, English literature, sociology and maths.

He will be joined at the college by fellow classmates Kafei Tsang, who scored four 7s, three 8s and one 9s.

"I am very pleased," she said, "I will be studying chemistry, biology and psychology at Holy Cross."

Amanda Todd's outstanding results of four 8s, and six 9s, left her 'buzzing'.

"I am buzzing," she said. "I put in the work but you never know if it is enough. At the start of the holidays I didn't think about results day, it is as the back of your mind but as the weeks go on you become more aware.

"This year group has been amazing."
