How on earth did Harry and Meghan become public enemy number one all of a sudden?

When they turn on you, they really turn on you.

In the past week we have heard nothing but disdain from some sections of the press for Prince Harry and Meghan with some suggesting that this was all due a clear bias based on the background of Meghan.

This latest episode revolves the around the notion that Meghan and her husband Prince Harry were hypocritical when they decided to take a private jet after previously campaigning for environmental issues.

Elton John came to their defence but it didn’t make a difference because we are now in a place where it is ‘okay’ to home in on someone because they aren’t what we expect a Royal to be.

The problem with our press is that large swathes of it still live in a bubble with no real idea what people on the street are actually thinking.

As well harking on about how great Britain was before it was ‘changed’ for the worse by the incoming masses (which is nonsense really…it was either the same or it was rubbish before), we are constantly being told that people who are different aren’t ‘really British’.

Most people are not too bothered if Meghan edits a fashion magazine featuring activists to artists and campaigners.

You would think this would have been welcomed? No, even this was not good enough.

In this most recent case, Royals have constantly backed or spoken out against campaigns but then done things to the contrary. All of a sudden it is a big problem?

But we have a mainstream press who like to think it matters. And this is rammed down our throats constantly and so much so that even we start believing it.

During the great migrant newspaper campaigns of the last decade I had sons of migrants telling me that we were being swamped by hordes of people here milking their blessed NHS dry.

Well, what else would you think if you were told over and over and over again that migrants were making our lives hell.

The fact is we are in a middle of the most polarised point in British culture since, well, the last time someone needed an excuse to print a seemingly semi-racist story to engage with readers.

Let’s just leave the Royal couple alone.
