LOCAL bands and musicians will be taking to the stage over the weekend to once again provide the perfect accompaniment to food and drink.

More than 70 bands, singers and entertainers will be taking to two stages over the Bank Holiday Weekend.

The Festival Music Stage will be on Le Mans Crescent and the Acoustic Bar on Victoria Square over the four days.

And best of all the live music areas are free to enter and no tickets are required.

Headlining tomorrow on the Festival Stage will be The Courtbetweeners. Tribute band True Order and highly rated Bolton five-piece Attic Doctors will also be performing.

On the Acoustic Bar stage headliners will be The Jelly Heads.

On Saturday, The Lancashire Hotpots, a comedy folk band from St Helens, will entertain the crowds on the Festival Stage.

Talented members of Bolton Ukele Group will take to the Festival stage earlier in the day. Bolton covers band Trident, will headline at the Acoustic Bar.

Elvis tribute act Tommy Holland will rock the Festival Stage on Sunday.

Other highlights include the Eagley Brass Band ­— one of the oldest brass bands in the world ­— performing in the afternoon. The Acoustic Bar stage will welcome The Buskers Ball of Bolton, who will be hosting an open mic afternoon.

On Monday catch headliners Blank Cheque, as well as Tommy Govan and Grumpy Old Men’s Practice on the main stage.

Highlights on the Acoustic Bar include boyband Conixi and poet Oliver Lomax.
