LE Mans Crescent was full of life as musicians took to the stage to perform over the weekend.

Ukulele group Nanukes of the The North, fronted by Jenny Ryan, entertained the crowds on Saturday night.

Bolton’s Jenny — who is widely known as The Vixen on ITV show The Chase — is set to show off her skills in the kitchen in this year’s Celebrity MasterChef alongside 19 other celebrities.

During their 45-minute set, the musical group played a selection of quirky covers, including Hounds of Love by Kate Bush, Psycho Killer by Talking Heads and Take On Me by A-ha.

Headlining the festival’s main stage on Saturday night were comedy folk band The Lancashire Hotpots, who played to a packed out lively audience.

The group posted on social media today: "What a fantastic time we had at Bolton Food Fest, thanks to everyone for coming. It’s on for another two days if you fancy sampling the delights...next Sunday, we play our last festival of the year, Off The Tracks...let’s do this."

Foodies certainly seemed to enjoy the music produced by the St Helens-based group.

One of the visitors posted on Facebook: "Hope the Lancashire Hotpots are there again next year. All ages appeared to be loving it."

While another wrote: "What a fabulous night, loved it and danced all night."

And there is still a host of bands yet to take to the stage. At 6.30pm tonight, alternative indie rock band Ideal Forgery will perform on the main stage. They will be followed by five piece punk ska reggae rock covers band TVOD at 7.30pm.

Then Bolton's very own king of kings Tommy Holland will take over from 9pm with his Elvis tribute act.
