A FORMER car firm boss from Leigh has been given a six-year directorship ban after a probe into his company’s spending.
Jack Whittle has been issued with the disqualification by the Insolvency Service following the collapse of Bamber Bridge based ABC Car Care Centre Ltd.
Investigators say an absence of sales invoices, purchase invoices and cash records meant they could not determine where nearly £690,000 of company expenditure had gone, and if it had benefitted ABC.
Their inquiry also questioned an outgoing of £131,117 from the firm’s bank account to an unnamed individual, and cash withdrawals and cheque payments totalling £114,764.
Whittle, of Railway Road, failed to produce VAT and PAYE records.
