BOLTON Brainiac Jenny Ryan proved to be a whizz in the kitchen when she appeared on Celebrity Masterchef.

The Chase star won over MasterChef judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace — with John saying "Jenny has got the makings of a very good chef".

Jenny, known as the vixen, entered the MasterChef kitchen alongside TV personality Dom Parker, comedian Josie Long, radio presenter and poet Mim Shaikh, and reality star and A&E doctor Alex George for the second week of heats.

She said: "It is time for me to branch out and challenge myself and I want to be able to replay my mum for all the thousands of delicious meals she's made for me by making her proud on Masterchef." — joking "it's going to be great to get my hands on a spatula or two!"

She made a white pizza in the first task using béchamel base with goats cheese, red onions and figs — delighting the two judges, who praised her for doing something different to the other contestants.

Jenny faced a mad dinner time rush at restaurant Merchants Tavern — and her final dish of beef stroganoff with tagliatelle and flat bread had the winning flavours to keep her in the cook-off.
