The weather is getting wetter and families are looking indoors for different things to do as Autumn approaches.
Here's our list of five things to do this weekend:
A legend of music
Chatham-born Toni Lee is bringing her We’ve Only Just Begun show to the Albert Halls in Bolton.
The singer has been celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Karen Carpenter’s original We’ve Only Just Begun by taking the show from Eastleigh to Warrington to Bolton, selling over 20,000 tickets, replicating Karen’s voice and costumes.
Not meant as a tribute, but instead a heartwarming homage to Karen Carpenter’s music who touched Toni as a child after she saw a CD given to her mother by her father as a gift.
The show will be taking place Thursday, September 12, tickets are £26.25 and can be bought at www.quaytickets.com/boltonalberthalls.
Vintage clothing is a blast into the past
Fans of vintage 16th Century clothing and memorabilia may be tempted by the Vintage & Artisan Fair being held at the historic Smithills Hall at Smithills Dean Road on September 15.
Featured at the event will be a selection of stalls where artists designers and cooks will offer a plethora of jewellery and clothing, plus treats homemade by the stall holders. Admission and parking are free and the event will last from 11am to 4pm.
Get arty
Every Monday and Tuesday, including September 16 and 17, the Art Class at the Bolton Hobbycraft runs beginner art classes run by experienced art teachers.
Beginners and more advanced artists are welcome to come along to practise and hone their skills, with all necessary materials and stationary provided by staff.
The first session is free, followed by £10 fee each week.
Test you Disney knowledge
On September 13, Cherry Moon will be holding a Disney Quiz Night at 32 Bridge Street, starting 7pm, for a maximum of six people willing to come along and take part, and win an unknown sum as a cash prize.
Entry is £1, and tables cannot be booked, so it’s first come, first served.
Connect with yourself
If you fancy improving your flexibility, flexibility and overall fitness you may want to try Yogamindful Yoga class at Little Lever, St Matthew’s Church.
The classes include warmups, and take you through a series of stretches and poses designed to challenge and boost confidence.
Newcomers may come but previous students will have to note the new time at 7pm to 8pm, Thursday September 12th.
Lessons are weekly and cost £5 each, £30 for 6 lessons up front.
