A MAN has died following a medical incident while driving in Little Lever last night.
The incident happened at 10.30pm and the man's car crashed into a lamppost outside the Queen Anne's pub in High Street.
A police spokesman confirmed that the man, who was in his late 80s, had suffered a medical incident at the wheel before his car rolled into the post.
People from nearby houses came out to help him and paramedics were called but the man was pronounced dead on arrival at hospital.
A spokesman for the ambulance service said: "We were called to a collision involving one vehicle. We were called to a male patient who was treated at the scene and then taken to the Royal Bolton Hospital."
The road was closed until around midnight when the vehicle was removed from the scene.
