A WOMAN has been 're-arrested' on suspicion of murder after a man was killed last year.

Paul Dickson, from Montserrat Road, Johnson Fold, was found by residents in the street outside his home on December 30, 2018, after what appeared to be a stabbing.

Despite being rushed to hospital, the 49-year-old died 12 days later on January 11.

At the time, a 35-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of assault but she was later bailed and then released by police.

However, officers have today announced that the woman has been arrested for a second time on suspicion of murder.

Detective inspector Damian Threader, of GMP’s Bolton division, said: “Whilst it has been nine months since this tragic incident I want to stress that our enquiries have not stopped.

“This week we have been able to make a further arrest, which I hope shows that we are working hard to establish exactly what happened on that fateful evening.

“We are urging anyone who may hold vital information to think back to December of last year and please get in touch if you think you can assist us with our investigation.”

The woman has been bailed while police continue their inquiries.

Anyone with information should call police on 0161 856 5757 quoting incident number 94 of 30/12/2018, or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
