THE final events in support of the campaign to stop more than a thousand homes and a Ryder Cup golf course at Hulton Park will take place this weekend.

Hulton Estate Area Residents Together (HEART) has organised the guided walk at the site ahead of the government inquiry into the plans which begins next month.

The campaign group has been fundraising to take on developer Peel L&P which wants to build 1,036 homes and a golf course at the site before the public inquiry.

The Little Barn Farm petting animals will be at the event this weekend, as will Every Feather Bird rescue with their aviaries of rescue birds and Hoghaven hedgehog rescue.

The Milk Maids from Dearden's Farm will be selling their homemade ice cream and there will be coffees and homemade cakes on offer too.

The events start from 1pm tomorrow with members of the public invited to meet at 702 Manchester Road near the Chequerbent Roundabout.

Children and dogs are encouraged to attend.
