AWARD-winning illustrator Chris Riddell will drawing in real time to accompany a live poetry reading.

The event, will take place in the main lecture theatre of the university today from 6.30pm.

Poet Dom Conlon will give readings as Chris illustrates live.

Sam Johnson, Head of the Bolton School of the Arts at the university, said: “This is a real coup for Bolton and indeed the North West, given Chris’s international profile.

“2019 marks the 20th anniversary of the Children's Laureate scheme. Being the laureate is the highest accolade for a children's author or illustrator in the UK. We are delighted to welcome Chris who is one of the UK's best loved and most acclaimed illustrators and a passionate supporter of school libraries.”

Chris, who was Children's Laureate from 2015-17, will be talking about the impressive collection of poetry that he has illustrated, Poems to Fall in Love With.
