BURY'S schools will be able to up their game because of the government's £14 billion increase in Whitehall grants promises one of the town's Conservative general election candidates.
The cash boost, announced last month means every secondary school in the town will receive a minimum of £5,000 per pupil next year and every primary will get a minimum of £4,000 per pupil from 2021/22.
Christian Wakeford, the Conservative MP candidate for Bury South said:“As a former school governor for eight years I am delighted that the Prime Minister has delivered on his pledge to level up per pupil funding across the country so every child will get the benefit of a world class education.
“It’s all about getting the best start in life, which is why I’m delighted that the Government has set up plans to properly fund our schools – getting this country back on the road to a brighter future.”
