A SINGER songwriter from Radcliffe has written a song in memory of 11-month old Zakari William Bennett-Eko who tragically died after being rescued from the River Irwell.
Now with the support of Zakari's family, it is hoped the song by Steven Millington will be turned into a charity single, to raise money in the baby's memory.
Steven said he never expected the song to be picked up in this way.
He said: "I wrote a song after the Manchester Arena attack and this one I wrote two days after Zakari died, I am Radcliffe born and bred and what happened shocked the community.
"At first I thought I would leave it as a poem and then I put it to guitar music."
It is hoped that a studio can now help in issuing a single of the song.
Louise Dawson, who helped organise a gathering in memory of Zakari, said: "The money raised from the charity single will go to the family to donate.
"I have spoken to the family, who I am in touch with quite often because of the memorial we are putting in Kenyon Gardens for Zakari.
"They have been overwhelmed with the support shown which I do think is helping them."
The gathering along with donations collected over the weekend raised £535.
Louise said: "Thank you to everyone for supporting the collection, Radcliffe Market and The Bridge Tavern."
Recording studios which can help should email louise.dawson@tsctrust.org.
People wanting to add to the collection should visit The Bridge Tavern or email Louise.
