PROGRAMMES are now on sale for the Kearsley Scarecrow Festival from selected locations.

A flurry of late entries means there will be 117 scarecrows on the trail this year.

The scarecrow trails have been split into eight scarecrow trail maps, which are available for £2 from: Tesco Express (Manchester Road), Easylawn Turf, The Grapes Hotel (Stoneclough), Market Street Tavern, Wells House, Tesco Farnworth, and Grosvenor Nursery School and Day Care.

Organisers will announce on if any more places are willing to sell the programmes before the weekend, at www.facebook.com/kearsleyscarecrowfestival.

Maps will also be available on the weekend at four designated gazebo stalls: Unity Brook Inn, Tesco Express, Kearsley Mount Methodist Church, and The Grapes Hotel.

The two-day event will run from 10am until dusk on both Saturday and Sunday.

On the Sunday, a panel of three judges will judge the best scarecrows.

11-year-old Hollyoaks actor Erin Palmer, Kearsley councillor Paul Heslop, and funeral director Amy Lilleywhite will make up the judging panel.

There will be entertainment, food and refreshments available at various locations on the routes.

Festival organiser Tracey Wilkinson said: "We need everyone to come out and support it, share it, invite people from outside the area because it's about showing off Kearsley."
