THIEVES broke into a house before making off with jewellery and other valuables.

The offenders burgled the property in Blenheim Road, Breightmet, near to the junction with Slaidburn Avenue at around 12pm on Wednesday.

Once inside they raided money and gold jewellery, including rings and earrings.

A statement from GMP Bolton North said: "Officers attended a house burglary on Blenheim Road on Wednesday afternoon, close to the junction with Slaidburn Avenue. This occurred at some point around midday.

"Cash and various items of jewellery were stolen from inside, mainly gold rings and earrings.
