A NEW treatment room is being launched as a healthcare specialist adopts a new branding.

Dajan Organics is the fresh identity for Market Place tenant Soapy Skin, with the unveiling taking place during the shopping centre's health and wellness day yesterday.

David and Janet Shorrocks, the owners of the outfit felt, with their product lines moving beyond just making and selling hand soaps, to cover bath and body products, and face and hair care, along with home fragrances, a different approach was required.

And the couple thought that a fusion of their first names, and the addition of a fledgling treatment room, would send out the right message to clients both old and new.

Each new customer at the treatment room will have a specially tailored care programme devised, they say, with natural organic ingredients and essential oils brought to the fore.

Their revamp comes on the back of a successful spell for the company, which saw them scoop the natural products and services prize at the Janey Loves 2019 Platinum Awards, which are hosted by Radio Two presenter Janey Lee Grace.

Their natural peppermint foot balm, for dry and cracked heels, impressed judges, who included TV presenter and DJ Zoe Ball, actress Glynnis Barber and entrepreneur Jo Wood.

The Shorrocks started out with Soapy Skin around five-and-a-half years ago as a home enterprise, before relocating to an industrial unit in Moses Gate, then a store in Bath Street, before finally landing on the upper floor of Market Place.

David, who used to work as an engineer, suffers from eczema and it was a lack of irritant-free products on the market which first brought Soapy Skin into being.

One of their first creations was a goats' milk and honey oats soap and after they handed out samples to family and friends, the impetus to start their own business grew, with Janet giving up teaching. The company has also championed eco-friendly packaging in everything that they do.
