HOSPITAL staff are warning people not to come to accident and emergency unless there is a 'real emergency', as the department is suffering with extreme pressure today.
The Royal Bolton Hospital has issued a warning as its A&E department is overrun with patients.
People are being told to "think carefully" before going to A&E this afternoon, as staff are "under significant pressure", according to a statement from the hospital.
The hospital told people to "keep A&E for real emergencies" and suggested that people go to a GP or pharmacist instead.
In a Facebook post, the Royal Bolton Hospital said: "Our A&E is very busy. Please think carefully before attending. Your GP or pharmacist may also be able to help."
