BOLTON brainbox Jenny Ryan is set to show off her singing skills after she was confirmed as a contestant on in The X Factor: Celebrity.

This brand-new take on the nation’s most talked about music talent show will make its debut on TV screens this October and will feature some of the biggest names from the world of music, film, sport, television and social media.

The star-studded series, which will premiere on October 12 on ITV, sees music mogul Simon Cowell, return as a judge, alongside Nicole Scherzinger and Louis Walsh, as the trio cast their eye over a group of celebs, including actress Viki Lake, Coronation Street favourite Victoria Ekanoye, Eastenders regular Jonny Labey, veteran journalist, Martin Bashir and rugby stars Ben Foden, Thom Evans and Levi Davis.

The celebrity hopefuls will be leaving their comfort zones at the door as they battle it out in LA to make it through the first stage and all the way to the live shows in London to ultimately win a life changing record deal.

Jenny, who grew up in Horwich, is one of the Chasers from ITV’s The Chase, with the 37-year-old’s knowledge seeing her also compete on The Weakest Link, University Challenge and Mastermind. She initially was hired to write the questions for The Chase, then later became one of the Chasers in 2015, after fellow Chaser, Anne Hagerty recommended her.

Jenny will compete on the show with other celebrities also including The Only Way Is Essex favourite, Megan McKenna, American actress and model, and daughter of David Hasselhoff, Hayley Hasselhoff, Strictly Come Dancing’s Brendan Cole and actor, Jeremy Edwards
