FIREFIGHTERS are dealing with a fire at a "large detached building" in Atherton.
Crews from Bolton, Leigh and Hindley have been attendance in Leigh Road, since around 7.45am.
They used hose reels to extinguish the flames and the fire is in the process of being dampened down.
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service has not confirmed which site was ablaze.
An ambulance and rapid response unit were sent to the scene but no-one has been treated for injuries.
The road has been closed near Howe Bridge Leisure Centre and traffic is being diverted left, meaning people cannot drive towards St Michael school.
Traffic heading towards Atherton town centre from Leigh will also be diverted.
There is a large amount of traffic so Transport for Greater Manchester are telling people to avoid the area.
